Full Paper Submission

Oevaru 2026 Full Paper Submission (deadline: 15th April 2026)

This page is only for authors whose submissions have already been accepted. If you received an acceptance email, you may submit your full paper using the template and the submission form shown on the right.

Full paper submission is strongly encouraged for accepted submissions to strengthen research, evaluation, and academic writing capacity, and to support development of conference work into publishable manuscripts. However, submission of a full paper is voluntary and not required for conference presentation or participation.

By submitting, authors confirm the work is original, they have the rights to submit it, and ethical and research integrity requirements have been met.

Full Paper Submission Guidelines

Purpose

This guideline provides direction for full paper submissions for the Oevaru Conference 2026.

Scope and types of full papers accepted

Oevaru welcomes full papers that are relevant to mental health and wellbeing, including but not limited to:

  • Original quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods research
  • Service evaluations and quality improvement initiatives
  • Implementation studies and practice-based evidence
  • Policy analyses and systems-level work
  • Case presentations
  • Structured reflective or descriptive papers grounded in data or evidence

Publication policy

Full papers submitted to Oevaru are not automatically published by the conference. Accepted abstracts will be published in the official Oevaru Conference Proceedings. Authors retain full ownership of their manuscripts and submission to Oevaru does not constitute prior publication and does not restrict future journal submission.

Journal publication pathways

Authors are free to submit their full papers for publication to a journal of their choice, including:

  • Maldives National Journal of Research (Maldives National University)
  • Other local, regional, or international peer-reviewed journals

Following the conference, selected full papers may be invited for further development or submission to journals or special issues. Such invitations are optional and non-binding.

Writing support and feedback

In keeping with Oevaru’s capacity-building ethos, the conference plans to offer:

  • Full paper writing workshops
  • Guidance on manuscript structure and academic writing
  • Written feedback for full paper submissions

Details of these supports will be communicated separately.

Awards and recognition

Full paper submissions at the conference are reviewed for awards and recognition process. Awards may be offered to encourage high-quality full paper submissions. Award categories, criteria, and processes will be detailed in a separate document. Authors may opt out of award consideration without affecting review of their paper.

Originality, ethics, and research integrity

By submitting a full paper, authors confirm that:

  • The work is original and has not been previously published
  • Appropriate ethical approval and informed consent procedures have been followed
  • All data are presented honestly and accurately, with all sources appropriately cited

Prior presentation of the work (e.g. as a thesis, report, or conference abstract) does not preclude submission, provided this is transparently disclosed. Please note that your full paper submission may be screened for plagiarism and AI use.

Authorship, conflicts of interest, and funding

Authors are expected to:

  • Disclose any conflicts of interest (financial or non-financial)
  • Acknowledge sources of funding and the role of funders, where applicable

Use of AI and writing assistance

The use of AI tools for language editing or formatting is permitted. However:

  • AI tools must not be used to fabricate data, results, or references
  • Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the manuscript
  • Any substantive use of AI tools should be transparently acknowledged where relevant
